depending how extensively you want to be able to dig into your Boxster, the Bentley manual should be more than enough. I consider myself more than an average shade tree mechanic and have found the Bentley to be plenty sufficient. At $70 vs the much higher price for others - I'd start there and supplement as needed w/ the archives here, renntech and ppbb.

I also have the Bentley Publications Service manual. I think it is very good.

The Porsche 14 volume repair manual is online

for d/l as a series of PDFs. Free! May take a few tries on each file as the server is not the most reliable. But certainly worth finding the best hour and doing it as you have time and inclination.

I probably consult it once a day to answer some question.

See my web site index under Manuals for the link.

Yup, you can't beat the pdf manual as it pretty much has everything and the price is right. You can also download the parts list off Porsche's website for free. I find this to be very helpful too. In the garage I use the Bentley manual, but then reference the pdf manual as needed and print pages of that when I need to take it to the garage.

Amazon.com has it for $64, which appears to be the best price around.

Yes. I bought mine on Amazon too from Bentley Publishing. I can't remember how much I paid but $50 to $60 sound right.

Bentley. You'll love it. Don't waste your money of the disc that someone on these forums is selling. It's a disorganized mess and tough to use.

The www.cannell.co.uk site seems to have just disappeared recently - anyone know anything about that?

All i can tell you is that google last indexed it on the 18th Jan, checkout Google cache of the manuals page:

http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:rgn5Yc7YBvEJ:www.cannell.co.uk/Manuals.htm+http://www.cannell.co.uk/Manuals.htm&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk

Unfortunately Google doesn't cache pdf files :(

OOOH some of them work. I just got the first one downloaded. Maybe they all do.

Tripple edit: seems the site is back up :)
