My first Porsche
Well, newbie here. At age 40 I just got my first convertible and Porsche for that matter. Love it! Nothing like driving an orange traffic cone down the road with the top down. I have owned several sports cars but never a Porsche or a convertible.
Well looking forward to some great weekend drives, auto crossing, lapping days, ect. Any words of advice, please pass then on. Thanks, Troy |
Get some matching orange tires....
|
Congratulations! Send a picture. The orange Box is something else. Well, I like the body design so much I think they could paint it any color and I would still smile.
I bought my 2004 a year and a half ago. I love it. Its amazing how it is almost always good weather for driving with the top down. Even now, just turn up the heater and enjoy! |
those tires are WILD.
|
is your's the one with the all new rear bumper and carbon mirrors?
advice: Valentine One. That color will raise every law enforcement eyebrow it comes across. |
What other sports cars have you had? How does the Boxster compare in handling / torque to you other toys?

Beautiful car, 295 HP packed in that 3.4 what number is on your SE name plate?
|
Congrats. I just saw the Orange one at the dealer last week. Wow, very cool. The only downside will be the attention you will get. Not exactly a subtle color.
|
Congrats on the purchase.
I went to my local toy store to look at the LE they had in stock and it bit me hard. I was VERY close to buying it but cooler heads prevailed. Did you get a discount from sticker and if so, how much? And as an earlier poster asked, what # did you get? |
Well This is the long and short of it, Got the car last week @ Brian Harris Porsche Audi in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. My sales men was Pete Huff and the sales experience was 100% first class.
I got the car for my wife as a special gift for the 28th of this month. The car is in storage at this time till I give it to her on the 28th. I am in Houston this week for Thanksgiving, but will take some pics ASAP when I get back. I am trying to keep the car on the down low till the 28th, so it is hard for me to post and or talk Porsche till I give it to her. I can say this, this is my first Porsche and the little I have drove it I love it. This thing is like driving my shifter kart. The suspension, acceleration, feel, speed, brakes are all great. I am 6'4" and weight about 230 and I fit great(with the top up) in this car. I will post more and provide lots of pics after the big day. Looking forward to some good times and will be looking for help from the community to make sure I get the most out of it. Talk to you all soon, thanks in advance. -Troy |
are you sure she is going to view an orange car as a gift :D
oh is it stick??? fill us in on the rest of the story! congrats on the car....I think it's really cool.....only thing I don't like are the black rims......maybe in person they are sharp...... |

They only made 250 but I've seen two of them already. I guess we have a big chunk of the Porsche buying world here in New Jersey, saw one at the mall in Paramus Saturday.
I don't know whose bright idea that was but the thing was covered in finger prints...a rare car deserves better treatment than that. I used to think yellow was the best flashy sports car color but I think orange takes it. It looks great at night under the street lights and has a great shine during the day. What a head turner. The GT3 alcantara interior treatment was a nice touch, hadn't noticed that before. http://car-reviews.automobile.com/im...ters_le_04.jpg |
Congratulations....... You will be so happy with your choice!
I picked up my 2008 Boxster S "RS Orange" Limited Edition #17 of 250 on Oct 20th and have been in Heaven ever since. It's so easy to keep clean. The Black rims have grown on me a lot, plus they too stay clean so much longer than standard rims. No regrets here. Enjoy! Quicksurfer (SF Bay Area) |
Did Porsche manufacture 250 S and base LE? Or 250 S, 250 Base?
|
250 of each, 500 total :

QUOTE] Nice to know there's something out there more likely to get pulled over than me. I usually try to drive 1/4 of a mile behind a hot blonde in a flashy car -- but I'd happily go for anybody driving an orange boxster. ;) |
