a buddy that supposed to install these springs for me said he cant do it Sunday, i already got the spring compressor, so i did it myself :)

We're gonna need some better pics to evaluate as you said in the thread. Is it me or does your rear camber look extreme? Maybe the alignment will cure that. Hope you like the results and let us know the ride/handling differences. I'm considering ROW M030 now... |
yeah, alignment is needed badlyyyyy. this is way off tho couse i literly just got done putting everything together.
so tomorrow after alignment ill take pics and post, but i love them so far |
Hey DJ, how hard was the whole procedure? I've lowered hondas, acuras, and bmw's in the past, but I haven't attempted any porsches yet.
I hear the rears are a pain... How would your rate the fronts, rears, and entire process? Any difficult parts? Thanks in advance... |

hey, guys, thx for the comments, unklekraker, G/F was home getting ready for family get together all weekend, so didn't get a chance to see her anyway.
as for the install, i followed it on the renntech forum, but it turned out to be, not miss leading, but doing a lot of useless work, or can i say the hard was to do it,so it took some time away from me, then i put it all back to the way it was and did it this way. this is not the only way to do it, but worked for me, and nothing got hurt/broken this way, so do it like this, if you get hurt its not my fault :) front: take the wheel off, and then there are about 6 bolts that need to be unbolted and you can get to the front springs, still intact, you can just take the whole shock tower and push down on it, and slide it outside of the fender, put the spring compressors on them, and swap them out. and that is all, you can do it yourself, but i suggest just get someone to hold the assembly in place so it doesn't scratch your paint while you are taking off/putting back the springs. same bolts need to be unbolted as the rear ones, look at the pic on bottom that i drew up. the front ones should take about 30 minutes a side or so. back ones, they say is harder to do, but i think its just as easy to do. you first have to disconnect the rear camber eccentric bolt, and then after that it all just comes out, then you can get the shock out out of its sitting position, and it will be only held by 3 bolts on top of it. then unbolt those, and the shock will be free, take it to your bench and swap the springs. here is the picture of what the rear should look like, as you can see only a few bolts and shock comes out. very simple. i got it done at Firestone here by my house, had some coupon.
they now have a 119$ lifetime alignment offer, but they wouldn't give it to me couse i didn't have a stock car :rolleyes: |
Man, DJ, that thing looks badass. I used to think the rear sidewall was a little tall, but the way it tucks up into the wheel well now...awesome. The stance is perfect! Nice work!

DJ-Car looks great. It always has and got a whole lot better with the black wheels. Lowering it was the icing on the cake. I went to an alignment shop last time for mine but I think I am going to NTB next time. They do a really good job of balancing my wheels and also have the lifetime alignment program. I think they have a restriction on how many times a year you can do it but they don't care if your car is stock or not. Might be worth looking into.

Let us know what happens at NTB. The place where I go has a manager who used to race open wheel cars professionally and he was really into P-cars. Maybe he was willing to overlook the coilovers or maybe he just didn't care. I think I will swing by there today and pick up a copy of the contract and read it. I need to make an appointment to get my front wheels balance again anyway.
