Fall Driving
I have really been enjoying the top down weather we've had this fall. Now that it is cool enough for a little heat I ran into a small problem. The heater has a setting for flow out of the bottom vents. I have always used this setting with every convertible I've owned as it keeps my legs warm. After a ride yesterday I was not getting the flow at the bottom like I should have, When I got home I looked under the dash and saw why. There is only one outlet at the bottom and it is on the passenger side.
I am assuming that for some unknown reason the Porsche engineers figured the driver could drive better when he was cold. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you solve it? Thanks, Tom |
Hmm. I've never even noticed that. I'll have to check tomorrow. It does seem a bit odd, though the cabin is so small that one vent is probably sufficient. I find that I use the heated seats more than the actual heat itself.

I've got a vent on the driver's side as well as the passenger side footwells. Is this something that might be model year specific?

Mine has a floor vent in the drivers side. I've never seen it, but I've felt it.
tombea and Chills, friendly suggestion... put your model and year in your sig, that way we'll know your point of reference. |
Thanks Jack, I would do that except that I can't find any place for a regular signature much less with information in it. For the record I have an 02 Boxster S.

After reading the FAQ I see that the admin has to allow sigs. Must be a first...second class thingy.

Thanks Jack, I found it. I'll see if it works with this post.
