Now a Boxster Owner

Just bought an 07 leftover on Friday with all the options I was looking for - and for the price I wanted to pay. More details and pictures to come.

Great cars these are!!

But for now, a big thank you to everyone that helped me with advice, etc.

Nice! Congrats, What options did you get?

baseball 10-30-2007 01:47 AM

It has:
Preferred Package Plus, which includes:
680 - Bose High End Sound Package
446 - Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
342 - Heated Front Seats
P74 - Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package
M6Z - Floor Mats Interior Color
P12 - Self-Dim Mirrors & Rain Sensor

The other options are:
18" Boxster S wheels
Wind Deflector

Two options I would have liked to have had, (but was willing to live without) was PCM and Automatic Climate Control. I was about to place an order for an 08 with all of these options, but this one appeared and I grabbed it.

Baseball, you won't miss the climate control, the top will be down most of the time, and you don't need the AC then. If you have the top down and the heat on, it is usually full blast. :)

Congrats on the new car!

Car looks great, and you have the options I would get if I could afford them, enjoy

Nice

Good car - I bought basically the same car last year at this time (a 2006 model) in the Seal Grey color with the same options except the wheels and rain sense wipers.

Yours looks Sillver right? I'm in New England (aka Title-Town) and shopped the CT / NY areas as well as RI. Can you share how much you ended up paying? I know October is a great time to buy these cars if you can find what you want.

looks great! can't wait to see it without the bicycle reflectors.....the clear markers should look great against the silver :D

So automatic climate control isn't standard on 987s like it was on 986s in the US?

Pilot2519j 10-30-2007 06:22 AM

Right Color

Congrats welcome to the group! How much did it set you back? I also live in NY bought mine from Roslyn Porsche dealer.

No - Climate Control is an option on the 987 and as was stated previously by someone, it's not something I would use often but if you have it great.

djomlas 10-30-2007 07:33 AM

weird, but then again i never used the auto button
either heat pretty much full blast, or windows open and top down haha

If I recall correctly, it's a $550 option. Ooouch.

Thanks everyone, it's good to finally be a member of the club.

To answer some of the questions, I shopped as far west as Buffalo, as far east as Boston, South to NJ and as far north as Vermont - and everywhere in between.

Many dealers had the car I was looking for, but most had the 17" wheels which was a deal-breaker. Finally I found one with the right color combo and options at Manhattan Motor Cars and they were willing to sell it to me below invoice.
