IMO there is no better bang for your buck...especially if you just want to go fast than a vette.

Why are you backing down on the GTO? If you want it, get it???!!

*putting my flame suit on*

If I we're in your shoes, I would pick either Subaru WRX Impreza or the Mazdaspeed 3, that's what M3 stands for, right j/k

y not take a look at an Evo. now those things are fast, and cheap to get power out of, and doesnt look as ugly as an STI

Good for you.

I hardly know you at all, but from your recent posts, trying to race the car and your interest in the GTO, it appears that you want a car that does well at the dragstrip. The Boxster (even an S) is not really suitable for that, so I am glad that you are selling it. "Muscle" cars are the ones that are most suitable for the type of application that you desire. GTO would be OK, a used Vette would work, a used Mustang GT should be within your budget as well. The Subaru WRX Sti as well as the Mitsu Evo have posted 0-60 times of around 5s, and they both are AWD to boot. Go drive them all and see what you like - you will have to live with that car, not the people giving their opinion (esp. on a boxster board).

Good luck.

Nope 14 at 100%, hes from Canada, but hes bought motorcycles and A $30,000 Mercedes from the usa, and the sellers have said he paid on time and very professional, so i think hes a good buyer.

I personally like the Boxster, but I also think the Mini Cooper S, Volvo C30, and some Subaru's are nice. I would have gotten a MCS or a C30 but then I saw the Boxster. Subaru's are out because they have no two-door version.
Just my $0.02!

If you want "FAST" on your budget, check out a Trans Am WS-6, Mustang Cobra, Grand National, etc...

It was me who said, errrr "thought" that the other day. Don't mistake what I thought as I'm really rooting for you. I have a '99 in mint cond w/ only 29K on the clock and I'm pondering selling next spring...... after the 1st beautiful 80 degree weekend w/ nothing bu sunshine .

If you do get $22K for yours, heck I might let you sell mine and pay you commission since it'll be more than I paid for it 2 years ago.

Good luck and I'm sure you'll keep us posted.

PS- good call passing on the "new" goat. Much better options out there that won't depreciate too much

I had a short ride in the EVO and the AWD was impressive. I had never been around one but was impressed with what came on it from the factory.

Blkboxster, you're a good guy. Nice kid, I can tell! Your car looks great on eBay. Very clean. The low mileage will attract a lot of attention. Maybe the mileage is too low.

Don't worry so much about what other people think. Be confident. Set your own trends. If you’re not sure about something, act 100% confident, until you figure it out. Be decisive. If you make a mistake, don't worry; just make another decision, and move on.

Again, don't worry so much about what other people think.

If you like the GTO, buy the GTO. It is your money and your experience.

It is a very nice car and the posts on the forum, are well, posts on the forum.

You could always go old school. 20K would get you a really good condition 300ZX TT, or a Supra with money to do some upgrades. If you really want a pretty car, get a late-year RX-7 and make sure the engine has been rebuilt. Those 90s Japanese supercars really are fantastic, the Supra is awesomely powerful, and the 300ZX handles beautifully.

I don't hate the new GTO at all. The performance is really quite good. I went to test drive one and found it super quick and quite comfortable. I think Pontiac should have put a little more thought into the design as it is pretty bland for a "Sport Coupe". Especialy since the GTO name is so revered. If I were looking at a performance vehicle on a budget I think the GTO would be on my list. Do what is best for you, not on what "us guys" think! We are Boxster guys!
