Red Brake Calipers on a Base Boxster?

After buying my Boxster in July, I've done a few mods. Bumperplugz, Alumalook dash surround, Alumalook bezels, Alumalook non-smoker tray, Carbon Fiber sill plates..... (see attached)

But the coolest thing I think I did was pop the wheels off and paint my calipers gloss black and used a stencil to paint on red Porsche logos. They look pretty cool. But don't have the impact that the red calipers have on the "S" models.

So, I've been pondering this and will put the following question out to y'all; Is it a sinful breach of etiquette to paint the calipers of a base Boxster red?

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Your interior and calipers look great!

As far as color of the calipers, I painted my 986 base calipers red because I thought they would look good. I really don't care if others disapprove.

Why would you even worry about what others think to begin with? I don't see anything wrong with painting your calibers red for your base model.

pm boxsterz. He's done this mod and many others.

Mine are red.

It's your car. Paint them purple if you want to

Yes it's sinful, and that's why I couldn't resist painting mine.

seriously, paint them whatever the heck you want....the black is cool....I thought of going glossy black, beats dull black :D

Purple would make the daughters happy!

Normally I don't give a damn about what people think, but the red calipers seem to define the "S" models. Just didn't want to make myself out to be kin to one of those fellows who drive around in an '88 Honda Civic with VTec stickers all over it! :D

NO, NO, NO! You're not allowed to have Red Calipers without buying a S. :D Just Kidding.

Nice job on them, haven't seen the red on black. I think the Red would surely stand out more. Alot of base Boxsters have painted them. Like the others have said, it's yours, do what you like.

I love the cf inserts, I can't find them with the S added on without paying $600 for the factory ones.

They look great!

You can paint them whatever color you want.

I think it would look really cool. Be careful though someone might think your a poser! ;)

Also, where did you find a silver non-smoker tray? :D

Mine are red. Best (and one of the the cheapest) mods I did on my car. The red lettering is a nice look too though.

Dj,

Your wheels look awesome ( and they look even better in person )

I really like the looks of the Kumho's too ! Maybe I need to reconsider the Nexen’s I was thinking of picking up

I wouldn't pain them red. Your black w/ red looks unique and to be honest looks better than red calipers.
