How much should I repaint?

Over this last weekend I made the mistake of pulling to close to a curb block. Received some minor scrathes and such to the underside of the front bumper. You cannot see it when looking at the car straight on. Its strictly the valence/underside area of the front bumper. My question is would you repair it yourself? The "stealership" of course wants to paint the entire bumper at a cost of over $650.00. I can't believe this cannot be repaired and touched up and look presentable and still not devalue the car.
I would appreciate any insight on this.

they'll want to repaint the "whole" bumper to help blend it better.

Post a pic of the damage and we can give you some advice on how to proceed. Could be as simple as just touching up, wet sanding, or just making it less noticeable.

I have done this numerous times. It's going to happen. If it is not noticable, then don't spend the money. On mine, the scratches ARE noticable but I still wait for more dings and scratches. Then when it is unbearably ugly, I'll upgrade to a turbo-bumper or something more stylish.

That's what I'm doing, though I may finally give in an pick up some touch-up paint to cover them.
