Rug shampoo

All ye, I am looking for a carpet foam cleaner. You spray it on and it foams, then you vacuum it out or something to that affect. Any suggestions on where one can find such an item? We had one a number of years ago but don't remember brand or place of purchase. Any recommendations for a more recent method of cleaning the carpets? Thanks in advance,

AKL

3M or Woolite.

Get at hardware store.

Scoth Guard too.

The problem with foamy carpet cleaners is that they clean the carpets sure enough, but they leave behind a residue that attracts new dirt much, much faster.

See if you can rent a steam cleaner or use a home steam cleaner with a hand attachment used for upholstered furniture.

It's not the foam type, but Folex does great getting out dirt and stains in carpet.

Bought cleaner

Well I bought a can of Woolite Heavy Traffic carpet cleaner today. Trick is to really vacuum it good before & after application. Light gray rugs in my '02 just look ratty enough to try a good cleaner. Will post results but I believe this is what I used a number of years ago to good results. Thanks to all who helped with answers.

Use woolite at 5 parts water and 1 part woolite, or less. I find it helps if you use warm water and shop vac the carpeting thoroughly before adding the woolite.

I use 1Z carpet cleaner on my matts and carpet. When the misus isn't around I'll clean the matts in the tub and use the shower head thingy to rinse out all the water.

It works!

Just cleaned the floor mats with the Woolite foam and it took out a coffee stain. Really brightened them up. When they are fully dry I will vacuum them again. Woolite claims the Scotchgard inclusion will help keep them clean and stain resistant. We will see. Next decent day I can get the top down I will do the interior rugs. It leaves a decent clean smell.
