Brake Dust

Its time to clean the brake dust off my wheels. What cleaner should I use?

I have the colored wheel caps-- should I remove them? On every other car I've had the wheel cleaner has ruined the plastic on the wheel caps. Are these caps any different?

Wash soap and water.

I'm a fan of P21S wheel cleaner gel. It's supposed to be safe for all wheel types and surfaces, unlike many of the harsh products you'll find at the local auto store.

You will also find the wheels will stay cleaner a little longer if you keep a good coat of wax on them after you clean. I seem to wipe mine down every day with a terry towel that I only use for the wheels. If the wax is in good shape the dust will wipe right off.
