Extended Warranty in CA

I'm finding it hard to find a company that sells warranties for cars in CA. Who here is CA has their under an extended warranty policy? What company is it? Are you satisfied with the service?

During the course of searching for my p-car (few months ago), I was looking at a 2000 996 cab with <45k miles. At that time, the broker I was dealing with set me up with a service manager at Rector Porsche (name was Hector, iirc). My understanding is that so long as the car has less than the factory warranty miles (50k in our case), it qualifies for the factory extended warranty (CPO, if I'm not wrong).

For that vehicle, I was quoted several rates for different mileage/years of extended warranty. I don't recall the exact amount(s), but it wasn't cheap. Hope this helps.

Just from what I've seen it seems like

2 years/$1.5k
3 years/$2k
4 years/$2.5k

Does that seem about right with what you've seen?

The numbers I recall were much higher, if anything. I was also quoted based on mileage... for instance, different amounts for 4yrs/75k miles and 4yrs/100k miles. I distinctly remember over $4k for one of the options, and I believe the quotes started out a little less than $2k (probably for 1yr/12k, the details are quite foggy, sorry).

But again, those figures were for a 911 cab, so everything else being equal, I'd imagine it to be cheaper for the boxster, which does seem to be the case with your quotes above. Are your quotes for the porsche extended warranty?

It was from a high end car dealership. I called on an 00' S they just sold,I asked how much would an extended warranty typically run on a Boxster or similiar car and he gave me what I posted.

(Wayne if you see this your PM box is full)
