At the front they are the same. At the rear you need a special fitting kit installed. They are not expensive, over here you can get them for 40 GBP, I guess they will be $75-100 from your local Porsche dealer.

You need to install spinlocks in the back, on each side. Sunset Imports is the cheapest I found at about $65. You need the two bolts and right and left spinlocks. If you call them they should now what you're talking about.

Here are some instructions for installing the spin locks:

I think you will have to register on RennTech to view the topic.

Good luck finding and installing your hard top.

I had the black plastic caps on mine, but I had to install spin locks.

Lock at the sketches in this technical bulletin:

http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=5526

Basically, if you see a round empty hole when you remove the black plastic caps, you don't have the spin locks.

The hardtops will not fit all years. The tops changed with the model changes. 986 needs that series top, different from a 987.

If anyone with a hard top no longer wants their black plastic caps, I would like them.

PM me if you've got them lying around in your tool box gathering dust!
