Anyone running 235/40-18s on the front of their Boxster?

I'm currently using the stock size 225/40-18s on my rims, but it looks like I could put 235s on the front because the new rims I have are 18x8.5 instead of 18x8. Half an inch wider. Anyone ever try this? Any problems with rubbing? The offset on my new front rims are 50 instead of the regular 40-45. Any suggestions would be welcome. Is it possible to do without problems?

I'm running 245/40/18s on my fronts - 18x8, 50mm. The only issue I have with the 245s is there is very little clearance with the spring of the strut. But that is a constant distance so no problems. Next time I'll go with 235s.

235s should work fine for you.

I'm running 235/35/19s with no issues, if that helps at all.
