Check Engine light stays on

I replaced the Spark Plugs and the Polyrib Belt last night. I turned over the car and notice that one of the plugs was not firing and the check engine light came on. I check the connections and found one of the Sparkplug Wiring was not connected to the Cap, I reconnected it and the engine is behaving normal again. But the check engine light remains. Question? Once the check engine comes on, does it need to be reset? Any ideas

You could try to disconnect the battery and leave it disconnected for a few minutes, 20 should do it, then reconnect it. It should reset the check engine light. But make sure you have your porsche radio code so you don't loose you pre-set stations. If the light stays on you may have to have the dealership clear it, or go to your local Autozone. Autozone uses an O.B.D.(on-board diagnostic) tool that can be used to clear the code.

You need to get an OBD II scanner to clear the code. Do it at auto zone for free. Disconnecting battery won't do the trick.
