Its crazy its all over the news here, was in a Carrera Turbo.

The last guy to hold the record was a guy called James McAlister he is from Aberdeen did it in an M3 @ 156mph.

172 is crazy he got 3 year ban as well.

James, it's up to you to take back the record in the name of Scotland. National pride is at stake. Or better yet, goad some chavs into doing it. There are several in Edinburgh I'd like to see behind bars.

after its all said and done, it will make a good story for his grandkids...if he survives long enough to have any....

maybe, need a bigger engine. :)

up in Scotland for instance there are so many abandoned straight roads with no cops and no real danger, there are always cars getting pulled for 110-120mph here, but the court allows he speed to be kicked down to 99mph which is usualy 4-6 points and a couple of buck fine.

I once got pulled for a speed just shy of the old brit record when 'testing' my new supercharger on my DC2 type-R, luckily they had no camera but i got nailed by them and managed to walk away with nothing. v.lucky.

I was 18 at the time and totally do not support stupid driving on public roads.

Anyway there is a little background on me.

This is crazy! Jail?

He should have flipped the cops $20 and been on his way.

I wonder if the road he was on was one of them "narrow, you have to yield and pull over to make room for an oncoming car" type of roads.... ?

LOL
