hey seal box, yes there has been one on this board already, I believe it was eslai that had the rms issue on his 987

the rumor is if your buiild date is prior to may 05, you have the old seal, they changed the seal in may which "fixes" the problem

I heard it only happens to Seal Grey Boxsters. All of the white ones are 100% safe!

It must affect speed yellow boxsters too. When Excellence reviewed a speed yellow 987 in 2004, supplied by Porsche, it already had RMS leaks and it only had a couple thousand miles on it.

I wrote a nasty note of outrage to the magazine, which they published in the next issue.

I can't get a warranty on my car because it's so old, but I will NEVER own another Porsche without a good extended warranty on it for this very reason (RMS, IMS failure, etc.)

WHY YOU GOTTA PICK ON ME!!!!

BTW, I've also got some kind of weird leak in the rear passenger-side wheel. I thought it was just new asphalt or something, but the past three times I've washed my car I've had weird grease all over the inside of the wheel. Back to the dealership!!!
