Info on Continental Warranty Company

Found this company on the internet and just got off the phone with a high pressure salesperson attempting to extract $2498 out of me to provide a 4 year, 48K warranty on my 97 Boxster with 84,000 miles on it.

Unlike some of the other online warranty companies, this group forced me to leave my phone number instead of displaying the rates on the web.

This deal looks far too good to be true. 1sourcewarranty.com offered a 3yr. 36K warranty with no deductible for just over 5,000 bucks.

Anyone had good or bad experience with these boys or an opinion I should know about?

You might want to check out http://www.carbuyingtips.com/ first.

Also go to http://www.badbusinessbureau.com/default.asp
to see if the warranty company is in the "****************-list".
1sourcewarranty.com are very expensive, try http://www.autowarranties.com/index.htm they are so much cheaper.

$5K for extended warranty sounds crazy. My Porsche dealer quoted something like $2.5K back when I was thinking about buying used.

Make sure you use a reputable insurance company and triple-read the fine print about what they will and will not cover. You don't want to save a few bucks now only to find out that the company went belly up or won't cover your seized engine or whatever.

As another price point for you guys.

My extended warranty was less than $1K from the dealer ( how can you pass that up ? ), however the car was only a year old at the time and had approx 5000 miles on it. Also, I would imagine it was pretty cheap because a significant amount of the factory warranty overlapped with the extended warranty.

The dealer told me that because of the mileage of my boxster, 84K, that they could not offer me any kind of warranty. That's why I'm searching for a warranty elsewhere.

Thanks for all your input thus far!

Someone on this list must have shopped Continental and went with them or decided against them. Any personal experience to share?
