Air Scoop on front Boxster S

So anyone know why Porsche placed a cutout (black plastic) between the two radators on the front bumper? Seems as if that would catch air but maybe it was designed for that? Downforce? Just curious

I believe the "S" model has a third radiator (front)... That is why there is a 'cutout' there.

yup, S model has 3 radiators, so it obviously needs another hole for air

I think this information needs to be corrected. The 987S, for example, not sure about the 986S, only has 3 radiators if you have a Tip transmission. The car only has 2 radiators if you have a manual gear box.

On the 987 the third opening is blocked off unless you have a tip.

A fake vent? That's not like Porsche.

not really fake, but just versatile, so on tip its open, on non tip its closed.

It's not there at all on the base models, so they have a molded bumper without a vent that they could use. In my mind, that makes it fake.
