How does the Rx-7 do compared to the Boxster S?

I've only gotten ride alongs in it, but from an acceleration standpoint I would say it's real close to my S. It rolls more than the S in the turns, but other than that I can't really comment without getting behind the wheel. The guy driving it is pretty new to the sport so I am usually a few seconds ahead or so.....but he's getting closer to me with each event we do. He actually beat me the day after that was pic was taken at the Aug 5th event. The course and I couldn't come to terms that day and I was definately not in the zone. Back to that Rx7, it's very impressive considering it's bone stock and 14 yrs old.

Thanks Nick! I held my own on Saturday, but I still have a long way to go. They kicked me out of novice, but I can't catch the other guy in my class with the 96 grand sport anymore. We used to be about even, now he is usually a couple of seconds faster than me. He has R compound tires and I have street tires so a switch to stickier rubber would help even things up a bit I would think. In SCCA you can use sticky slicks and still be considered stock so maybe I'll consider getting some once I get a bit more experience. The guys in the yellow Z06 and the silver turbo are insanely fast.....I think they were about 6 sec faster than me. Those guys can drive! I hope to be at that level someday. Here are the results/times.
