Should I Change My Air Filter?
I have just over 13,000 miles now on my 987S. Should I change my air filter yet (early I know)? Most of us change our oil before Porsche says, so I am using the same logic with the air filter.
I don't think I need an air cabin filter...I am 99% top down without the fans running! OK, if the answer is "yes"...how do I do it?? Thanks! :) |
Doing any periodic maintenance early can't hurt anything... except your wallet!

I do it every year on all my cars. I'm sure the 987 air filter is in the fairly same place. Can't believe I paid to have it done at the dealer. The biggest waste of money ever. Took me 15 minutes in the supermarket parking lot while I waited for my friend. I think its a good idea to do it when you have dry vac so you can suck out any debris before you put in the new one.
I think there's a DIY on this site http://www.realtime.net/%7Erentner/Blog/B600322026/C1958058114/E765092039/index.html |
changing the filter anytime is a good idea, as long as it doesn't hurt you $ wise, but clean air filter is always nice to have, and help the engine breathe.
so yeah, change it man. |
The 987 air filter is way, way different than the 986 air filter. And getting to it is a bit more involved than on a 986.
