Interior Door Lights

Hi,
I have a question about my door lights. When ever I open the door and they light up, but there is a strip of black along the center. and when they go out they go completely black. I was wondering if this is normal? I noticed that this happened after I disconnected the battery for the first time to do the OBC hack. So do your guys interior door light go black when there off and have a strip of black while on? Anyway to fix this?

Thanks! :D

I don't recall ever seeing anything like that. My door lights are red and white. Can you attach a picture?

I'll get a picture up in a bit. :)

Rick, no picture necessary. My humble apologies. I NEVER looked at the lights when they were out, and damn! they turn black! I've never heard of such a thing. The only time I noticed the lights was when they were on. Tonight I watched them go out, and they fade from clear to black. That is waaay cool! I'm sorry to have misled you, that behavior appears to be normal. I'm surprised that no one else jumped in to corroborate your observation.

Thanks, I wasn't sure because I thought it woud just stay clear and red. But I think there is some dust or something in mine because they have a bit b :D lack while they are on.

They dont light up black as much as the light turns off and the lense gets dark... what your seeing is the slightly smoked clear lense appearing black when the door is shut and no light is around it... It appears to turn clear when you open the door if the light is burnt out because natural light filters through the clear/smoked side of it.
