new toy, new light problems

Hi all. I'm not exactly new to the forum, but still pretty green.

My problem is concerning the interior lower door lights. Mine seem to
never go off while driving the car. When I turn the car off, they go out
in about an hour. My car is an '02 S. I've only had the car a couple of
months and I can already tell by my brief experience and reading member
postings that this car has potential to be an electronics nightmare to
maintain.

Does anyone have an idea why my door lights won't go out. My guess is
either the ignition switch or the door locks going bad.

By the way, are there any members in the East Texas area. I'm in
Marshall, TX. I don't see many Boxsters or Porsches at all.

I would guess ignition switch. It causes all kinds of stuff to stay on too long or not come on at all.

ignition switch problems

thanks for the reply. how hard is it to replace an ignition switch
and is it expensive?

Will I have to get a new key?
