Annual Sales

Does anyone know where to find the production and annual sales totals for each Porsche model? I'd like to know how many Boxster S's were produced and sold in 2006 but can't find anything on a web search or the Porsche site. Tia.

Try Wikipedia. I was just looking at S2000 annual sales on there the other day.
Turns out they barely sell any S2000 in the U.S.
Believe it or not (if I'm not mistaken) there are fewer S2000's than Boxsters in this country.

And, don't forget, the "Cayman S" was offered first. The base modle came out about 1 year later.

Hi,

That's interesting, but somewhat suspect. Porsche Group NA has never released separate Cayman figures in any of their Annual Reports, likewise with the Boxster 'S' as it considers them all Boxsters. I find it odd that PCNA would not follow suit.

Also, there is perhaps a Marketing bent to all this, because put in historical context, the Boxster group is in another year of fairly healthy decline - steady decline since they peaked in the '00/'01 Annual Report...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

I think the issue is calendar year vs model year.
The figures in the referenced press release were for calendar year 2006, which would have had several months of model year '07 numbers in them, thus the sales for base Caymans.
Porsche sales figures are notoriously hard to decipher. Porsche has a fiscal year of I believe 1 July to 30 June, which is probably the source of MNBox's suspicions about non-matching numbers compared to the corporate yearly report.
Is the fiscal year the same as "model year"? I doubt it.

Good point Ronzi. Thinking about it I have no doubt that Porsche would report sales for it's annual year and not model year.
