Resale Value

I'm debating between a '99 and '00 Boxster. There seem to be more '99's for sale and are priced in the $20,000-$24,000 range while the 00's are in the $24,000-$28,000 range. I am aware of the engine changes etc. so my question is about resale value. Will the Boxster hold its value better than the 968 cabs which still go for $16,000-$18,000? Will there still be a $4,000 premium 3 years from now? 5 years? That's about the time I see myself settling down with a family car. :-)

Thanks

What premium are you talking about?

You can expect your Boxster to continue to depreciate in value. Those 968 cabs will continue to depreciate in value too. In the case of the 968 and Boxster in 3 years you will still see a difference in price between the Boxster and 968, but the difference in price will be closer together. Depreciation isn't generally linear. It's on average 10-15% a year.
