Well here is something new...

Not sure what to make of this...

blkboxster 07-19-2007 03:22 PM

back is trying to look like a c4s, and the tail pipe is just    :barf: :barf: :barf:

chaudanova 07-19-2007 03:23 PM

looks like he's trying to go for the Carrera C4S look...

edit: whoa, almost JINX to "Blackboxster"... right after I submitted my message, saw that you'd beat me to it by a few seconds... ;)

boggtown 07-19-2007 03:23 PM

This has been posted once a while ago. Very odd to me. I like how they got 911 tips and put them on the box, lol...

boggtown 07-19-2007 03:24 PM

We all just rolled our eyes at the same time without knowing it... its unanimous.

zackwatt 07-19-2007 03:52 PM

OMG :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf:

Boxter 07-19-2007 04:26 PM

too funny though...I saw the C4 thing I just had to post it as I have not seen this before.

TriGem2k 07-19-2007 04:38 PM

Call me crazy but I kinda dig the red on the spoiler.

SC986 07-19-2007 04:42 PM

Well, at least I like the rear bumper.

Boxter 07-19-2007 06:23 PM

the red did not bother me so much either...it was the
silver in the tails and the pipes that got me.

djomlas 07-19-2007 08:27 PM

i love that look.
i remember i saw that long time ago and photoshopped it on my car, and well....i dont have that new style spoiler and bumper, among other things that that car has, but i LOVE THE WAY IT LOOKS.

zackwatt 07-19-2007 11:02 PM

no no no on those pipes

986speedster 07-20-2007 07:13 AM

Glad I wasnt the first to say I love it!! But really do!!!

Tool Pants 07-20-2007 08:04 AM

That was Paul's second Boxster, a 2003.

SD987 07-20-2007 09:06 AM

I hope the owner did some serious performance modifications otherwise the aesthetics make the car look alot more powerful than it really is.

TriGem2k 07-20-2007 09:54 AM

I keep coming back to this thread and every time I look at it I like the C4S look even more.

What would it take to do that to my car? Just paint the spoiler and lights im guessing right?

CJ_Boxster 07-20-2007 09:56 AM

Looks like the newer 986 bumper, also the euro version, the newer style spoiler. rear diffusers, a muffler shop and 2 carrera exhaust tips to be welded to your factory exhaust.

Oh Silver and taillight red paint for the spoiler.

Already have the 03-04 rear bumper, which is also a euro version, which has the newer style spoiler, which includes the diffusers, dont want the exhaust as I already have a Gemaballa exhaust.

So that just leaves some minor paint work I guess.

CJ_Boxster 07-20-2007 10:00 AM

haha pretty much, oh... speedster emblem

TriGem2k 07-20-2007 10:15 AM

what color should I have it painted. Gaurds red or a darker shade of red?

Perfectlap 07-20-2007 10:31 AM

http://www.pcars.us/albums/4560.jpg

looks nice but..
1-I'm all for no bumperettes but where's the license plate?!
2-how do those tail lights work if they have been painted red and silver?
3-the tail pipes look a little too custom, almost distracting.

but the red coloring across the back looks good and the humps blend pretty ok.

boggtown 07-20-2007 10:34 AM

Trigem, I think a vinyl decal would be mucho cheap and easy compared to painting...
oh ya, whyd you delete me off your myspace... so sad, lol.

TriGem2k 07-20-2007 10:45 AM

I don't think I would paint my tail lights. I will see if a bodyshop can match the red of the existing taillights.

I just really really really like that look. It's mean looking. I think it will match the rest of my bodywork nicely.

Bogg - I would definitely paint it. Its a 150-200 piece of plastic. If I don't like it i wouldnt even have them paint it back, I'd just buy another one. Oh and I didn't delete you, I just deleted my entire myspace account.

CJ_Boxster 07-20-2007 10:50 AM

Oh yeah, your not on my friends list either, why'd you delete the account?

TriGem2k 07-20-2007 11:09 AM

Just got tired of it. I was on there 2years too long.

eslai 07-20-2007 12:57 PM

Hmm. I don't really like the red stripe thing because it's not flat across the bottom. Also, have you considered what it's going to look like when the spoiler is raised?

I would definitely suggest trying red vinyl tape first. You also are going to want to color match the stripe to the lenses on your tails, rather than just take "guards red" and do it up, I suspect.

Boxter 07-20-2007 12:59 PM

I think the red might even look a little better with the older 986 bumper given the straight shape vs the curved shape of the spoiler ends...also adding a little extra to keep the red in line with the bottom of the lights.
Something like the edited example below.http://home.comcast.net/~jmpfleet/back_2.JPG

Tool Pants 07-20-2007 02:10 PM

Here is another picture of Paul's 2003 Boxster. The tail light are painted red and silver. I suggested that he use dual filament bulbs, and I think that is what he did.

He is from Australia and still around, but not in a Boxster.

Boxter 07-20-2007 04:10 PM

It really looks like he put some time into that configuration...

What kind of exhaust setup is that? Looks wild

boggtown 07-20-2007 07:08 PM

You mean looks expensive... bet it sounds like the smoothest exhaust ever. Its got headers, cats, fabspeed looking mufflers, resonators, and a crossover. Makes me a little wistful looking at it...
