Boxster owners men vs women
I am constantly told that there are more women that buy and own boxsters by my friends but dont know any. I really tired of hearing it where can i get stats on who buys them and who owns them.

There's a pretty large population of Boxsters in the areas where I work and live. I'd say it is pretty well split down the line when I look at the driver.
And... who cares? No offense to my fellow gents... but I can tell you who I'd rather be looking at in the driver's seat when I pull up next to another car at a light

Seeing how you phrased that sentence, perhaps you should ask your friends. They might know.

You have to be very careful about generalizations. Do more men than women drive Porsches? I think so, judging from the chatgroups. That excludes the Cayenne, of course. Women probably own the majority of SUVs and usually drive automatics. Never mind my wife hates SUVs and drives a stick. So there you go with generalizations.
I know a Boxster owner whose wife and himself both race their Boxster and their two 914s. So there you go with generalizations.

I have been told several times that my car is a "chick" car and I even had my new sister-in-law tell me real men drive 911's where she comes from and only the women drive Boxsters. Of course my mouth dropped that someone could be so rude especially with her knowing how much I appreciate my car. The reality is I could drive a 996/997 convertible if I wanted to but I think that the Boxster is visually more balanced and is a far greater value. The perception that the Boxster is a chick car is held by a few but they are definately in the minority as I get positive comments about my car on an almost daily basis.

Of the seven I know of in this area, there's only one driven by a female. Oh, and she waves when we pass each other.

Out of curiosity, what kind of car are your friends driving? Corvettes? *L*

Here in Central PA there are about (80) Porsche club members.
I never see a female driving a Porsche - Boxster.
Except . . . .
When I'm not home, my wife loves to take the Boxster out for a cruise.
She thinks its a great FUN car, and likes it alot better than then the 928s4.
I can't blame her!

If the boards are any indication of the ratio, I'd say 9 out of 10 owners are male. In my informal, man-on-the-street observations, I would have to say it's closer to 7 out of 10 male owners, at least in my neck of the woods.
You'd probably have to talk to a few dealers to get a more scientific answer.

There is actually a very simple girls car test. Does it look like this? If not you have nothing to worry about!

Here's a pic of mine.
Watch out for updated pics coming soon!

I'm in the NE US and pass a Porsche at least every other day and park with 4 others every day. I've seen one female driver of a Boxster, almost everyone one driving a Cayenne is female and a few driving 911s. It's because of the "do I wave" or "don't I wave" drill when you pass another Porsche that it's easy to notice.
Three things I can say with a high degree of confidence, 1) Women love a Porsche and 2) Women love a convertible but 3) the vast majority of all Porsche owners and drivers are men. The 911 convertible to a woman is da bomb. The Boxster is cute and fun. A recent study showed that although women date men who are bulked up physically they prefer normal sized men for long term relationships and best of all intimacy. Sooooo, they might ove to be seen in a 911 but for long term "intimacy" it might just be the Boxster? Yippee Kayay!
