Good Dealer Experience

It was near 100 degrees in Denver yesterday and the wife and I decided to go out to dinner. When I went to put up the top so the AC would would be effective I heard a loud "pop" and the clamshell froze. I immediately suspected the dreaded top transmission cable problem and ran it in to the dealership this morning. (I have the original cables still) They set me up with a free loaner car from Enterprise and two hours later I get the call, "Do you want the good news or bad news first?" The "bad news" was the job required no parts!" The good news was the clamshell pushrods and several components were loose. The dealer re-torqued all components and tested the top several times. All is normal. $110.00 total and a free rental. Not all these guys are "stealerships!" P.S. I still watch the top operation like a hawk!

I got a freebie too! Guy at the parts desk gave me a free battery for my remote clicker. And the guy in the service department looked up my radio code for free.
p.s.
what does the word Fiero mean?

A lot of car folks laugh at the Fiero. It's a blast to drive, mid-engine, awsome lateral acceleration. Great sound, and today somewhat unusual. Mine's an '86, 75,000 miles and near perfect condition. Only problem is it's an automatic. I paid $3,000 for it 4 years ago and have been offered up to $5K lately. All the stories about "fire hazard" have been taken care of by Pontiac. It's not a Boxster by any stretch, but it is a well balanced and somewhat collectible car. BTW mine is totally stock.

Typical GM. Get a problem car sorted and drop it.

I'm glad people take the time to post the good along with the bad about Porsche dealers. Mine has certainly been good to me.
