Durametric - is it as good........

as advertised.

I am thinking of ordering the Durametric diagnostic tool. For those who own one, any comments good or bad? Is it worth it? Thanks.

I think it is worth it. Just add laptop and analyze THIS. And THAT. I think it is reviewed over at RennTech.

I had no choice. The dealership wanted to charge me just for clearing codes which I knew the cause for  like disconnecting my seat tripped the airbag light.

So far I'm satisfied other than the 3 car enthusiast restriction.

Well, I just got a badass little laptop, so if the car ever gives me any problems, I'll get the durametric tool and be able to see what's going on.

What all does this tool do?

How much is it?

Does it work on other cars or only the Boxster?

I have the Pro kit and thinks it's money well spent. It even works fine using Virtual PC on my Mac G4

Definitely worth it. It's the best tool in my kit for the Porsche. I've saved a lot of $$$ by not having to go to the dealer for certain of problems. It clears security system and airbag codes so I don't have to pay the dealer $100 a pop to clear them after I fixed a problem.

Looks like it reads the radio code, too. That could be handy for those of us who bought our Boxsters used and didn't get the code with the car.
