My First CEL

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later...

Got my first CEL on my way home from work today

Stopped at Murray's and they were able to read and reset for me :

P1123 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Lean Threshold

P1125 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Lean Threshold

( thanks for the codes, JAAY ! )

Just got done searching the forum, and it looks like blinkwatt had the same problem awhile back and ended up replacing the MAF.

I have a 1999 Boxster with 40k miles.

So, my plan is to see if it comes back, and if so, after I clean the MAF, should I replace if it throws the code again ? How do I know it is the MAF and not the o2 sensors ?

Also, another stupid question, on my way home I was stuck in traffic behind a car that was billowing smoke from the tailpipe. Is it possible this could have triggered the code since the radiators were pulling in the exhaust from the front ?

Also, where is the cheapest place to order the MAF and any instructions on replacing / cleaning ?

Thanks in advance for your help...

Nick
