DIY Muffler install tips

Im planning on doing the muffler install at home this weekend.
Any tips you guys can share for Muffler install?

Do i need to take my rear bumper off for the installation?

Spine, what muffler are you going with?

I can tell you that Porsche did not remove my rear bumper when doing the PSE.

If you are installing a Porche system from Tequipment, ask the dealer to give you the install directions or ask someone like Sunset Porsche to fax them to you. The Tequipment information has an ENU #.

I took my rear bumper off for my PSE installation and it made things a LOT easier. The bumper comes off pretty easily in about 10-15 minutes.

I would spray any old hardware on the car with some PB Blaster to loosen them up before you go putting a wrench to them. You don't want to be stripping out frozen hardware.

My PSE install completed in 3 hours  . I didn't bother to take the rear bumpers off. The inlet pipes seized on both sides of the stock muffler, i had to soak the Acuseal inlet pipe fasteners with oil while i mount the PSE.

Could you comment on how you removed the old system?
