Secondary Air Switch Over Valve?

Hi, The Porsche Dealership just called me to say that the "Secondary Air Switch Over Valve" is what is causing my check engine light to come on, and its going to cost $930 to replace, does this sound right? Have any of you heard of this?

Does your car make a higher pitch humming sound on cold starts?

The OEM Secondary Air Pump that I'm thinking that you may need to replace is only $225-250. Call Sunset Imports for their price to you, don't buy it from your stealership.

no it doesn't make any unusual sounds at all, sounds great, the check engine light came on so i took it to the "STEALER-SHIP" he very clearly stated the Secondary Air Switch Over Valve and Not coverved under CPO warrany

Sometimes I get a Secondary Air inJection CEL and my car sometimes sounds more whiney when i accelerate, and sometimes it goes back to quiet acceleration.

Ask them what parts exactly does he want to replace and how many hours you are being charged for labor.

Dropped car off on May 31 and they still have it

Ok, since I dropped my car off on May 31, and they called with their stupidity about the Secondary Valve on June 2, they still have my car and haven't heard a thing from them.

This dealership is owned my a chain that is known for awful customer service in this area, next time i'll just drive the hour to the next Porsche Dealership!!!!!!
