How many miles can a 3.2L Boxster S engine last before running into problems? The 100K milestone is not what it used to be 20 years ago IMO. Car engines lasts much longer now I think.

That's an ENTIRELY subjective question.

No one can say how long an engine will last. PERIOD. We can surmise how long it SHOULD last....

I'm putting about 10K-12K miles a year.
right now I'm at 40K on my 2000 S.
Which means I won't hit 100K for until maybe 2012 soooo I have another 5 or 6 years before I worry about these things.

Well, there are many variables including how well the car has been maintained, how hard it has been driven, etc. I guess my question should be "Is the 100K miles mark still signifies that a car is 'done'?" or is it now 150k or 200K?

when it comes to these engines...who the hell knows.
it can be 100k, or 11k, or 200k, who knows. but they will blow up at some point looks like lol
