Short Shifter? Still have the stock unit?

a few questions:

has anyone who installed a short shift kit still in possesion of the stock shift linkage? (or whatever you call it) Interested in selling it?
I see that there are cheap B&M knock offs on ebay for as little as $25, but I would rather stick with a stock unit.

2nd question:

Does anyone know if there is any difference between the 5 speed shift knob
and the six speed shift knob other than the graphic of the two different gate patterns on the top of the knob? In other words will a 5 speed shift knob fit on a 6 speed gear lever? and vice versa...

3rd question (for the 993 owners):
other than the boot being completely different, will a 986/996 shift knob work on a 993?

I can't really see that picture.

I guess it's like the lever in the attached file below. I only really need the lever that the shift knob sits on top of.

You need one of these (ignore the red circle).

And no, sorry, I don't have one. It took me some time to find one for my car!

Okay that part. I can hook you up with the stock shifter, but like anyone who did the SSK mod, I had to cut off the plastic bushings while removing the stock one. Just like Josh V's photo but without the large plastic parts on the left and right. As a 986 drop-in this won't work without the bushings. If it's for a 993 retrofit then it's your call. Let me know if you want it.
