Buying Used Boxster Need Advice
 

Hi all,

Am picking up a used boxster (yr not decided) in the next 2 months. Need some advice:

1. What to look out for in a used boxster?
2. Any good mechanic in LA that I can bring the boxster to for an inspection b4 the purchase?

Im in the same situation. Thers a website called the 986 FAQ that has some interesting info, but it hasnt been updated in a while.

I believe it is the May issue of 911 & Porsche World, a British Porsche enthusiast publication, has a section on things to look (out) for on a used Boxster.
The article also mentions a new book by Peter Morgan, the name of which escapes me, containing the same information, only more.

Two main things:

1. Make sure the year on the title says 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 or 2004, and
2. Make sure the Title reads 3.2L and the logo on the back has an "S" after the name!
