8 2005 boxsters caught testing in AL

Hey guys!

I am on vaction in Pensacola, Florida and just wanted to tell you what I saw on the way down here yesterday.

Heading down I-65 toward Atmore, AL I stopped in just before exit 69 to get gas, I pulled up right behind a cloaked 05 boxster.

When I finally made it up to the gas station, I saw that there were 8 cloaked 05 boxsters with a couple of Cayanne support vehicles.

I was able to snap 6 really good photos and will post them when I get back in town on tuesday night.

I was able to get some close up shots before they were getting annoyed that I was taking pictures.

They were completing some last minute real world testing on the new Boxster.

When are you going to post the pictures. I saw a Maserati and the Audi A-8 in the Cross Island Parkway, NY before it ever went on sale. Neither had markings of the marque of the car. Manufacturers do that to show the dealers too what is coming to the showrooms later.
Don't forget to post pictures as soon as possible.

so are these supposed to be the redesigned boxsters or just some little changes? They don't look all that much different to me. I thought I heard they were going to be completely redesigned in the next year or so but I could be wrong.

"Completely redesigned" seems to be rather relative. Porsche doesn't make dramatic changes from generation to generation in terms of style. The largest jump IMO is the 911s from 993 (95-98) to the 996 (99-04) specifically the 99-00 models since they completely lost the round headlights and shared headlights with the Boxster.

That's a large part of what I like about Porsche cars, the fact that they stay somewhat the same. It was just an article I read somewhere that made it sound like the car was going to be totally different that made me think that.

I read in Car & Driver the other day that they 997 has only 20% common parts with the 996 and that every single exterior piece was changed with the exception of the roof panel.

I beleive Porsche call it "evolution" and not re-design. The cars are constantly evolving.......
