Anyone else have CALIBRE radar and laser protection?
I was with my friend, who has one of the systems installed in his new car, and it works as advertised.
CHP hit us at 92 MPH, but the system BLOCKED his radar from picking up any reading, and we were able to slow down to below 60 in less then three seconds (the amount of time the system BLOCKS radar).
We could clearly see the officer speed up, and stare as we passed by, but he did NOT turn around at the next turnaround possible, we are assuming because he got no good reading.
By the way, we were hit by his radar on the back of the car, too, as he passed us.
It's an amazing, but expensive, system.
Any similar experiences to share?
Michael

No experience on this system, and in a lot of states radar jammers are illegal, but laser jammers are not. I am interested in the Blinder laser jammer for my car, to augment my V1.

well yes some are illegal, but so is speeding.
the point is to put it somewhere where it can block the laser but not be visible, and the cop will assume that his laser is experiencing some malfunction at the time, like inside one of the grilles or something like that
i had similar experience with a friend who has those on all 4 corners of his car, works like a charm, but yes, its on a pricy side.
i wouldnt even get those as i dont speed much, and my escort helps me a lot, so yea. i get my speeding and spirited driving out of the system at the autoX

Check out Escort Passport SRX, with "laser shifter". I believe it is cheaper and my guy who installs the Calibre system says its better and cheaper. GO ESCORT!

I've heard that this system works pretty good if a police officer is using radar or laser. However if the police officer is using VASCAR, then that expensive system in your car won't help you at all.

I have the Escort SRX and it has been very reliable. From personal experience I can confirm that it definitely will shift laser. Nothing will protect you against Vascar. It's simply timing you between 2 fixed points and calculating your speed.

I called today a place in Austin and they said that a complete install for a laser and RADAR jammer is 1700.
The escort is about that and it is a radar detector and a laser jammer.
Is it not better to have a radar jammer/dectector than just a radar dectector?

It's an infraction (ticket) in CA for you to have a blocker...
And yes, everything in CA is illegal!
