Was this some sort of "automatic" wash? If so, I think the manual discourages auto washes due to the rag top. If this was a "detailing" shop that is more than your standard, drive-through car wash... that is very odd. Personally, I wash my own car. Since it is "so small" it doesn't take too much time unless you really want to do all sorts of detailing. Not sure if it is just me, but there are few odd enjoyments with home ownership that I never expected -- BBQing and washing the car in the driveway.

I wash my own car most of the time but since I only have an apartment here in Albany, I don't have the resources.

It was a drive-through one.

It's never happened to me before. I mean, I guess I'm the only guy driving around a sports car...

Another concern with automatic washes is the side vents, you have to be wary of water getting into the intake. Also true even when you manually wash it.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you seem to post a lot of threads that discuss what other people say about your car. You don't really care what they think, do you? Or is it really making you insecure?

If so, you've definitely bought the wrong car. A Magnum on 20" dubs would get you more positive attention and comments about your humongous phallus than a Boxster. The people that are making comments are not the type that would appreciate your "baby Porsche".

What..?

The thread is about the car wash not being able to accommodate my car. Everything else you assumed is just that; an assumption. I tried to make it into a little story... that's all.

I have a home in Westchester county, NY but I am there only 3 days a week. The rest of the time I am in Albany at an apartment and the other day I would say I am busy driving (11,800 miles on her already...)
