Leftover New 2003 Boxster

I've located a leftover 2003 Boxster with decent equipment on it. MSRP is apx $49,500. 6 speed. I can get it for $40,000. Is this a good deal? I've seen conflicting posts about what dealers are selling their inventory for.

I've seen some pretty well equipped Boxster Ss going for 42-43 if you don't mind like 6k miles....not a lot in this category, but a few.

That is excellent. I bought mine 2003 S in December of last year with 3300 miles on it for 49.3K. If you can get it for the 40 seems to be a super deal.

Are you sure it is a 6-speed? That would imply an "S", but the MSRP is too low for an S. I believe the base MSRP for an '03 S was like $51,600, and with the normal options they ended up in the high 50's sticker.

Something is wrong with the question you pose. A 2003S MSRP is over 51K plain Jane and with options should be in the vicinity of 55- 65. The regular Boxster is 5 speed and sells for about 43K plus the options which should bring the price up to 47-50. I think you are getting confused between both models the Boxster and Boxster S. I bought the 2003S with 3,300 miles on it for 49.3K and it listed at 62.
Check if it is 5 speed or 6 speed, Boxster or Boxster S and if it has any miles on the speedo to accurately determine the price.

Two dealers in the most recent Autoweek classifieds have very low mileage 03S models listed for $44K.

An excellent deal in my opinion and one that if it sets the market puts me about $4K under water on my loan on my 03S. I guess that's good news as I'll keep it instead of using the cash flow to pay college tuitions

It's not a S

It's not a S. It's equipped normally. Does have painted roll bar and deviated carpet color. Also has xenons, metallic paint, convenience pkg. Lapis Blue, my favorite color.

It's brand new - I never thought I'd own a zero miles Porsche.

The quote for a new Boxster is indeed very reasonable. In December the dealer, Silver Star in Roslyn,NY, offered me a brand new 2003 Boxster for 43K fully equiped. Now being 6 months later 40K seems to be a fair price for the car. Buy it and enjoy it. It is a great car. Handles superb and is lots of fun to drive.
ENJOY IT. You will drive like I do with a smile in your face.
