check out this bike rack
need a bike rack, last one got smashed by some dick head who took off while I was in a strip mall. $400 down the tubes.
Well I found $430 under the couch so here' the next project. If spring ever arrives... this hitch mount: wilwood system $186 http://www.willwoodsystem.com/ http://www.willwoodsystem.com/images/hitch6.jpg Bike Carrier : Saris Thelma $Price: $249.99 Model #: 4215, 4216 http://www.saris.com/images/PRODUCT/large/298.jpg http://www.saris.com/p-298-thelma.aspx |
So... you can just unscrew and pop off the bumperettes, then slap that puppy on there.... and quickly reverse it, too?

yeah, it said to be a one hour install but since its a two prong or receiver system the new Saris rack won't work with it.
Willwoood did respond to my inquiry and state that he is working on a behind the license plate single receiver that would work with the 26 pound Saris rack. I'm very interested in the Saris rack because its a one piece unit. The other systems that work with Yakima and Thule bike carriers reuire a bed frame for the bike carriers to rest on. To me that's allot of money (over $500), allot of weight and too much bulk. I also have to lug the bike and bike carrier up a couple of flights in the townhouse I live in. I don't like leaving that stuff in the garage. Check out the video of the Saris Thelma http://www.rackoutfitters.com/car-racks/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=77&idproduct=1609 |
p.s.
I posted this on Rennlist maybe there is a group buy in the works. |
