Re-manufactured engine- Reliability
I was just on the PCA site and read something about re-manufactured engines. Basically, the post said that re-manufactured engines DO NOT have the same flaws as the original. Apparently, the claim is that all the flaws and kinks are worked out of the new engine.
For example, the problems that plagued the 97-01 boxsters (ie- oil leaks, intermediate shaft failures etc) should not occur again in a re-manufactured (new) engine from Porsche.
Anyone's two cents either validating or disproving this claim?
Has anyone had a second failure after replacing their engine with a new engine?
I'm asking because I might just replace my blown '99 2.5L with a
new re-manufactued 2.5L, due to cost-cutting. This is the most cost effient means of getting a new engine in my car, but I'm worried about any re-occurring failures.
cheers,
