New tail lights are installed!

Well my new smokes lights are in and look great! At least I think so. Maybe I'm just partial to anything that has to do with my box! Haha! How's it look? I'm just waiting for my 3rd tail light and side marker lights to come in.

Is there any way to rid myself of the amber in the actual headlights and replace them with a "smoked" look without looking crappy?

Here's before:

Thanks. I hope my other smoked lights and floor mats come in soon! How difficult is it to remove the 3rd tail light? Any special tools?

Removing the third brake light is super easy, but just be careful if you got an LED one to replace the stock. I did, and had to cut and switch the wires. 20 sec job.

Yep. Replacing the center light is easy. You half-way raise the top, remove one phillips screw and disconnect the connector. Connect the new light and test it.

If you install it normally and it doesn't work, do what 986speedster says. Cut off the connector on the light so you can switch the wires (there are only 2 wires, so it's hard to mess up). Reattach using some electrical tape and re-connect.

Looking good! Amazing how such a simple change can update the look. I fell in love with my boxster all over again when I replaced my tail lamps

I don't know about the other model years, but MY99 had the most over engineered fasteners for the third brake light, the lower half of the fastener fell down to I don't know where!
