Check with your state's DMV. But I would bet they require an amber side light. This was talked about here a long time ago.

Here is the law for California.

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc25950.htm

According to this it seems like it is okay to run white turn signals in the front. But I have always heard otherwise. I may just be interpreting this wrong and since I am not a lawyer in anyway I can not be sure that I am correct in my interpretation.

I would think you would be okay with clear bulbs that flash in amber though

They are talking about the color of the light given off, not the color of the bulb or the lens. So a clear lens and bulb with an amber light will be legal.

I don't know if the specific bulbs are availale for the Box, but I did the clear mod on a 997 and got bulbs from HOEN. (http://www.hoen-usa.com/)

They appear clear - 'till you turn them on. They have a section of yellow you can't see normally. Perhaps the best lamps they had, in my opinion, were license plate replacement bulbs; they are 'blue white' vs. the yellowish ones from Porsche.
