Headlamp Protection

My car has 3m clearbra on the front end, the film on the headlights was looking crappy and had a few bubbles so I removed it.
My litronics look brand new so I'd like a DIY replacement.
Anyone used a good film for the headlights?

I had the Stonguard.....thickest one I've seen so far. Think I ordered it from Eagle Day. Not cheap as I recall. But then I sold the lamps when I picked up Litronics on a Brandywine group buy ($1100).
I ordered a cheaper set on Ebay but have yet to install them. Wanted a window tiniting guy to do it because I ended up with some air pockets on the stonguard, even using the squeegee thing.

XPel Headlight Protection

I've used XPEL headlight protectors on my wifes car for 4 years. Thick 3M quality stuff. About $70 for the Boxster. I can't recall how many mm the thickness was but I'd guess 3-4 times the thickness of the typical clear bra stuff. Easy to apply and guaranteed for 5 yrs against 1" stones at 120mph! The ones on her car look like new after 4 years, no discoloration etc. Try xpel.com

Just curious, how much of a problem has chipping or cracking of the headlights been?

Especially since our cars have plastic headlamps and they are on a slope.

Have you guys seen much of this such that a protective film is necessary?

the only reason that i would get a 'headlight protection' film is to go with the yellow one, and thats it.
when i had my other car, it had glass expencive headlights, so i had the clear stoneguard, but on this car i dont think its necessary.
but since it is invisible pretty much, it cant hurt
