All Red Tail Lights for 987

I fould this today. Don't know why anyone would want them. How would you get light for backing-up?

Hard to tell since there is no picture. Would be interesting to actually see one.

CJ_Boxster 03-26-2007 04:11 PM

picture on the porsche site is down.... they probably will integrate the reverse light into the bumper somehow

bmussatti 03-26-2007 04:15 PM

I'd like to see it too. I think it would look good on Silver or White Boxsters.

I don't see how they could incorporte the back-up lights into the bumper. I guess we have to wait until May.

Haha, CJ, not the look I would be going for! :)

jinijazz 03-26-2007 04:59 PM

CJ_Boxster 03-26-2007 05:00 PM

I don't really mind the white/clear part so i don't think it looks much better. I like that my car is being used for examples. Maybe you should 'pimp my ride' on photoshop. :o

Grizzly 03-26-2007 06:16 PM

How 'bout some very inconspicuous white leds in the bumperettes for b/u lights? That would be cool.

z12358 03-26-2007 06:39 PM

I actually prefer the white part.

djomlas 03-26-2007 07:33 PM

i prefer the clear too on your car man

bmussatti 03-27-2007 05:35 AM

Drburton- Pimp My Ride!!!

OK, Drburton, I hope you don't mind, but I photoshot your car today with a RUF engine conversion...how do you like it? The RUF 3.8 liter Boxster S conversion will yield you 365hp. Be carefull, and observe the new brake-in procedure.

I know...it is very subtle:

DRBURTON, love the car with the new wheels, but lower it to clean up that space in the wheel well!! Eibach???

denverpete 03-27-2007 07:17 AM

I keep flipping between the two images. I think the all red looks great - but then it also kind of reminds me of a 350Z (not good). I'd have to see it in real life to really say.

drburton 03-27-2007 07:29 AM

bmuss, love the photoshop engine swap. Too bad it isn't real - gotta like the 'sleeper' mods.

CA_Boxster 03-29-2007 12:25 AM

I don't know the answer to how the backup lights work, but those lenses are the ones from some special "550 edition" Boxster. I saw them on the Suncoast Porsche site recently.

UPDATE

Here are the lights:

I like my current red & white lights better.

eslai 05-16-2007 02:45 PM

Hmm.. so the choices are "red and white" or "red and pink", eh? I think I'll stick with what I've got.
