Weird sound after releasing clutch..

For the first time today, I heard this strange sharp squeeling sound as I let go of the clutch and step on the gas pedal...it seems to be coming from the rear and sounds almost like a squeel..do any of you have any idea of what this might be?

It's worrying me as I'm already thinking of $$$ to repair this.

I have a boxster, 2002, 35K miles.

HELP!

thanks!!!

Did it do it once, or every time you operated the clutch? Only when you were at a stop? Only at low RPM?

Could be the clutch wearing out... could be a belt squealing...

It does it only from a dead stop. For example, after stopping at a stop sign and I pull forward.

Hi,

Clutch Slippage, TO, or Pilot Bearing would be my main suspects - Clutch Job...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

I agree, that sounds like a bad throw out or pilot bearing, we just re-did a carbon clutch in an APS turbo'd 350Z for a bad throw out bearing after it was in for 1000 miles...
