Stable Energies (www.stable-energies.com) in Garfield, NJ has helmets and some you can try on before buying.

What are you looking for? Car? Motorcycle? Bicycle

I'm sure they know this at that shop, but in case you get know nothing sales guy... when you put the crash hat on you should pull up on the helmet like if you were covering your ears with your hands. Lift up with your hands, the fit should be snug enough so that you feel your head being pulled up or your neck stretching. If the helmet can slide off your head its too big.

When I went to get fit for my helmet I was told that if it feels too small, it's probably the right size. I ended up having to buy an extra small helmet because I have a tiny head I guess, hehe. Apparently, though, they don't stock many extra small helmets, so to get the color I wanted I had to wait for it to be shipped. Should be here today, actually.
