Oil Change Help

Just did my first 02 Boxster S oil change.

The Pelican Parts web site tech info said to us 9 quarts. I put in 8 quarts, checked the dip stick and the instrument gauge. Both agreed it was full.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

I think it is full.

Re-check tomorrow and if OK, drive on.

Did you replace the filter.

Hi,

Assuming you did do a Filter Change, did you run the car? I mean, did you circulate the Oil and saturate the Filter and Cannister? That could be the issue.

Another is that you didn't let it drain long enough or have the car level when draining it - measure what came out vs what you added...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

I was on a level surface. Waited for the oil to stop dripping completely. Replaced the filter. I'll check the oil level tomorrow.

Thanks all.
