Code Diagnosis (P1411 & 0410)

Got my CEL scanned at Autozone and these 2 codes showed up: P1411 and 0410. Apparently P1411 is Manufacturers Auxiliary Emission Control and 0410 is Secondary Air Injection. Anyone have experience fixing these or where to begin looking? Thanks

SigmaPi,

Sorry, I don't have experience with those codes, but maybe one or a few of the more knowledgeable folks out there can give you a hand!

Please keep us posted!

Update

Stealership called today and said those codes required a new air change-over valve. It is not covered under the warranty due to it being part of the emissions system, so the charge is $480.

Having the same codes & after troubleshooting this afternoon, ordered the air change-over valve. Hope that is in, wasn't holding a vacuum.

Take a looks at the "Only error code P1411" thread. I just bumped it with an update. I have search a lot and that thread has a lot of good information, at least a starting point.

These codes indicate secondary air isn't reaching the catalytic converters at 'cold' start up. Several things can cause this to happen. It could be the change over valve isn't opening or there might be a leak in the vacuum system itself. If replacing the valve doesn't work, leak test the vacuum system to see if it hold vacuum. It could be a cracked tube, a hose connector, or the vacuum tank itself. It could also be a cracked oil fill tube or a cracked dipstick tube.

How does the seal on your gas cap look?

Finally got a chance to replace the air change-over valve & the CE light bulb on the cluster. Hope to drive it for 100 miles before attempting to SMOG it for the State of CA!!!!
