When considering peoples' opinions on pricing, you might want to check where they live. I think Boxster prices are a little softer in places like California and Texas where they are more plentiful.
You might have to pay a little more if you are not willing to purchase a car from out of state. I travelled to the DC area to buy mine since there were only a few for sale in Richmond and the asking prices were higher. |
I just bought a 2002 Boxster (with sports package and heated seats) for $23,500 in the Chicago area. They were asking $25,900 - negotiated to $23,900 then got another $400 off after the PPI - (needed alignment and a few other minor details).
The car had 23,000 or so miles and was like new inside - outside was a 8.5 or 9 out of 10 (one ding, one or two scuffs and one or two surface scratches). Definitely do the PPI - made me feel a lot better about buying the car. Hope this helps. |
