Tail light options

I was wondering what the options are, is the euro tailight different? They look the same to me but I want to make some kind of change. The other question would be about headlight lenses, are the halogens the same?

I appreciate the help
Thom

Depending on the year of your car, there are may options available on eBay. Just do a search and you will find euro, clear, smoked and LED taillights. Depends on what suits your fancy. Headlights on the other hand are limited somewhat. You can get Litronics (which have clear turnsignals), OEM with amber turn signals ('07 -'02) or OEM with clear turnsignals ('03 or newer). If you choose to get non-Litronics (OEM) you can also install a HID conversion kit to help increase the light intensity of your Halogen headlights (although there are some that do not advocate this option).

We've got both the clear turn signals - http://www.epiqautosport.com/pro_boxster_clear_side_markers.php - and clear taillights - http://www.epiqautosport.com/pro_boxster_clear_taillights.php - both are Porsche genuine...

$329.00 FOR CLEAR AND RED TAILIGHTS? Go on ebay, and the set is like 169.00. I just bought a set of clear and red LED tailights, plug and play for $179.00 plus shipping. The next generation Boxsters are rumored to be going with LED's all around. So why not be ahead of the game, if thats what you are looking for. Alos check out ULTRA tailights. They are from England, and lok great. LED and different surround colors. Bit pricey, but what isnt. Do a google search for them. As far as headlights, seems no matter what you try, eventually everyone breaks done and buys the Litronics. One day, guess I will too. Good luck!

Those are aftermarket, not OEM...big difference in quality.

Well, to me, I want to know that my taillights will always work, so nobody rear ends me when poor quality components or connections fail. But that's just me.

No offense, but thats just you (TODD), and your wallet talking. Your a business man, and discounting the quality of aftermarket, when people are looking for advice, is not cool. This is not your personal marketing tool.

Not necessarily true - my money is where my mouth is, as when I had my 986S, prior to EPIQ, I purchased the OEM taillights for the very same reason, rather than getting aftermarket versions. I think aftermarket obviously has a place or we wouldn't offer so much of it on our site, but on certain key components of the car I choose OEM, and taillights are one of them. I have an aftermarket seat, harnesses (not available OEM), and strut braces in my car, and OEM control arms, wheels, and side marker lights, which I would be fine with as aftermarket because I don't consider them that detrimental.

It's not a 'personal marketing tool', speedster. I might be a businessman, but when it comes to Boxsters, I was a driver/owner/enthusiast far longer, and still am.

So what is the difference than these Suncoast Porsche is elling for $165 for the set? I can in no way believe these are aftermarket from a dealer.

Ditto - Do not pay $329. You can get the real thing without the markup on a markup.

i still think that a chance that both of your tail lights will fail at the same time, at night, and a person will rear end you at the same time, is very small, slim to none in my opinion.

I agree - and honestly, the taillight assembly is not what I would call a complex part - nor something that would be prone to failure. In my opinion, I think this is a silly item to try preaching an OEM/safety line to....

Nope, those are not aftermarket - OEM. Wish I knew how they could do it - that's literally about what we pay in cost for one lamp...the struggles of a small business...
